No Bach, Beethoven, or Brahms: this program opens the door to other kinds of magic. Prokofiev’s Cinderella brings fairy-tale characters to life in music of elegance and theatrical flair. From there, the piano moves into the 21st century with Lowell Liebermann’s rhapsodic lyricism, Peteris Vasks’s meditative austerity, and Kian Ravaei’s bold, contemporary spark. Pianist Paul Caccamo invites you to hear the piano as storyteller, shape-shifter, and witness to the next chapter.

Paul Caccamo enjoys a rewarding career as a pianist, vocal coach, chamber musician, conductor, orchestral pianist, and recording artist. Over the course of more than thirty-five years as a performing musician, Paul has played on stages all over the world as a solo and collaborative pianist, presenting recitals with singers and instrumentalists of every kind. He has accompanied multiple Bay Area opera companies and choral groups, and currently serves as pianist for Saint Mary’s College Glee and Chamber Singers, and the Vallejo Choral Society. Outside of his musical activities, Paul has carried a backpack across thousands of miles of North American wilderness, studies Balintawak, a Filipino martial art, and particularly enjoys being a father.

Paul earned a master’s degree in piano and chamber music from the Eastman School of Music, where he studied with Jean Barr. He resides in Benicia with his wife and two daughters.
