Guest Limits
Tickets are not required to attend the Commencement ceremonies. To ensure compliance with fire safety codes and to provide a safe and comfortable environment for all attendees, we kindly ask that each graduate limit their guest count to no more than 12 guests, based on the venue’s maximum capacity of 7,000.
Directions
SMC is accessible by freeway, public transit and train, and are within shouting distance of two major metropolitan airports. The drive to campus will also take you through some truly memorable scenery. Parking and Campus Transportation
Accessible parking is available, with designated spaces for guests with mobility needs. For those who may have difficulty walking longer distances, golf carts will be available to transport guests from parking areas to the Commencement ceremony in SMC Stadium. Accessibility and Accommodations
At SMC, we are committed to ensuring that events are fully accessible and comply with ADA guidelines. We want everyone to feel welcome and included as we celebrate the milestone achievement of the Class of 2026.
For guests who have specific accessibility needs or require accommodations, there will be a seating platform on the day of the event which will come at a first-come, first-serve basis.
Our event staff are available to assist with directions and additional accommodations. Please do not hesitate to ask us for assistance the day of the event.
Note: There is no need to submit a request for general seating or parking. Graduands submitted their Ceremony Accommodation request(s) during registration for Commencement.

Accessible Seating
There are accessible seating sections for guests who have difficulty walking and/or use a cane, walker, wheelchair or other mobility aid as well as for guests who require sign language interpretation. Guests may bring one (1) additional companion with them into these accessible seating sections.
Closed Captioning will be present at the Undergraduate Commencement and Graduate & Professional Studies Commencement events.
ADA-Accessible Restrooms
ADA-accessible restrooms will be located just outside the SMC Stadium entrance in addition to the existing restrooms available throughout campus:
- University Credit Union Pavilion, Soda Activity Center, Chapel Arcade, Ferroggiaro Quad, De La Salle Hall, Sichel, Galileo, Dante and Garaventa Halls
