Join SMC's Creative Writing Department in Claeys Lounge for an afternoon reading and conversation with visiting writer Rachel Richardson, author of SMOTHER, as she discusses her art, life, and writing process. 

Rachel Richardson is the author of three works of poetry: SMOTHER (W. W. Norton & Co., 2025), Hundred-Year Wave (2016), and Copperhead (2011), both selections from Carnegie Mellon Poetry Series. Her poetry and prose appear in The New York Times Magazine, Lit Hub, Yale Review, APR, Kenyon Review Online, at the Poetry Foundation, on The Slowdown, and elsewhere. A recipient of fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Wallace Stegner Program at Stanford, she is also the co-founder of Left Margin LIT in Berkeley, California.

Visiting Writer events at Saint Mary's are free, open to the public, and ADA Accessible. Visitor parking is available on campus and light refreshments will be served.
