About
You're invited to join Saint Mary's Creative Writing Department for a fiction reading and on-stage conversation with writer R.O. Kwon happening on Wednesday, February 25th, 2026 from 2:30-3:30 pm in the beautiful LeFevre Theater on the Saint Mary’s College campus.
Kwon is the author of the National Bestselling novel, Exhibit, and the recipient of the Lambda Literary Duggins Prize. Kwon’s bestselling first novel, The Incendiaries, was a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle John Leonard Award and the Los Angeles Times Art Seidenbaum Prize. Kwon’s writing has appeared in The New York Times, New Yorker, Vanity Fair, The Guardian, and elsewhere.
Exhibit is a novel about a woman caught between her desires and her life. Time Magazine called this novel a “hypnotic queer love story full of lust and longing,” People Magazine called it “Bewitching,” and the New York Times hailed it as a “highly sensory experience, awash in petals and colors, smells and flavors, that adds to the literature on a proclivity much discussed and often misunderstood. It lingers like a mysterious, multihued bruise.”
Visiting Writer events at Saint Mary's are free, open to the public, and ADA Accessible. Visitor parking is available on campus and light refreshments will be served. All attendees are eligible for a fee waiver for the MFA in Creative Writing application—please reach out to Collin Skeen, Assistant Director of Admissions, at cas38@stmarys-ca.edu for more information.
