About

Please note applications have closed for Performing Arts and Art/Art History Scholarships. Therefore, only students who have already been invited to interview/audition are invited to Scholarship Saturday.

For all prospective students auditioning for Dance, Music, Theatre, and Art Scholarships, please come to LeFevre Theatre first to check-in. We will walk you to your interview/audition location. LeFevre is located across from the Bookstore entrance and Post Office. Look for A-frame signs around campus directing you to LeFevre Theatre.

Parents/guardians are welcome to wait in the lobby while the student is auditioning/interviewing. Light snacks will be available. Music practice rooms are available if a musician needs to warm up. We will also have some current Saint Mary's students available to answer questions you may have.

Saint Mary's College tours are available starting at Brother Jerome West at 9am, 10am, 11am, and 12pm. No sign ups needed.

Parking will be free on Scholarship Saturday. No need to get a pass or stop at the gate unless you need directions. The parking closest to LeFevre Theatre is the gravel lot between the Museum of Art and Syufy Performing Arts Hall. However, if you are taking a tour of campus, you might want to park in the visitor lot to the left of the entrance gate as you arrive on campus.

Refer to this website for more information about what to expect on the day of the interview/audition:

We look forward to seeing you! The interview is intended to be a non-stressful conversation, so just relax and help us get to know what the Performing Arts (or Art/Art History) means to you.

If you'd like to stick around after the auditions, there is a very unique and special FREE performance at the Museum of Art at 6pm-8pm. Lysistrata & the Endless End is a performance of improvised expanded cinema and animation with shadow puppetry, lumia, live dance, and music. For more info: https://www.stmarys-ca.edu/events/lysistrata-endless-end

There is also a men's rugby game at 1pm and a women's basketball at 5pm on campus.

Please note all prospective students considering attending SMC in Fall '26 are welcome to come back to campus to see our Dance, Music, and Theatre concerts this semester for FREE. The schedule of performances is listed here: stmarys-ca.edu/box-office. Please contact Tara Sundy at tms8@stmarys-ca.edu for a free prospective student ticket.
