About
Join us for a surprising look at the way sci-films are a pop-culture battleground for an age-old philosophical debate. Using clips from The Matrix, Ghost in the Shell, and Total Recall, a film-maker/scholar reveals how these works engage with the notion of mind-body dualism: Descartes' groundbreaking assertion that “mind” can be separated from a person’s body and still claim to be an authentic "self."
