About

In honor of the 50th Anniversary of the High Potential Program at SMC, we invite you to join us for “The High Potential Program at 50: A Most Lasallian Endeavor!,” a keynote by Tom Brown.

Founder of the High Potential Program, Tom Brown began his professional career as a 22 year-old Assistant Dean of Students for Special Programs at Saint Mary's College, with shared responsibility for supporting the achievement and success of Black and Brown students. He was named Staff Member of the Year twice by students, and the 1998 graduating class petitioned for him to serve as their commencement speaker—which he recalls as one of his greatest honors before leaving SMC the same year.

Join us for a keynote and learn all about the history of HP, key stakeholders, and the role that students played in the founding of this program. The keynote will be followed by a student-moderated Q&A.

RSVP Here.
