About

Graphic novels use the formal conventions of "comics" to tell sophisticated stories, as interdependent words and images create layers of complex meaning. Drawing from Understanding Comics by Scott McCloud, and integrating a short comic-drawing exercise, this workshop will help readers discover the craft and artistry of works like Maus and Persepolis.
