About
We invite applications for the position of Lasallian Mission & Ministry Scholar for August 2026 through May 2028.
The Lasallian Scholars are graduate students enrolled in a Kalmanovitz School of Education graduate program at Saint Mary’s College, live on campus, are part of the Lasallian Educator Fellows Program, and are also part-time staff members in the Mission and Ministry Center (MMC). They work with other MMC staff members to plan and implement MMC events and programs, and are an integral part of the team which consists of 5 staff members and about 20 student leaders. At any given time there are 2 Lasallian Scholars on staff in the MMC: One who is in their first year of being a Lasallian Scholar, and one who is in their second year. So - one Lasallian Scholar is chosen per year.

Those include: Justice Education, Faith Formation, Liturgy, Liturgical Music, OCIA, Interfaith & Religious Diversity, Lasallian Education, Our Lady of Guadalupe Celebrations, GaelPantry, and/or Retreats. The area/s they work in will be explored during a follow up interview, and will be based on the Scholar’s interests and strengths, as well as the MMC’s need.
The Lasallian Scholar position is approximately a two academic year commitment: from early August 2026 through May 2028 (summer work possible if desired, but not guaranteed) and Lasallian Scholars can expect to work 12-15 per hours per week in the MMC. This position is paid hourly.
Scholars will receive:
1] 50% tuition reduction for the entirety of their graduate program (up to 2 academic years)
2] Free room and board (housing on campus and a meal plan) during their time as a Lasallian Scholar
3] Hourly paid position in the MMC (12-15 hours per week) for 2 academic years (summer work possible but not guaranteed)
4] Ongoing mentorship and professional development opportunities with MMC staff
5] Continued Lasallian formation activities though the MMC and Office of Mission
The ideal candidates for this position would have experience with the Lasallian educational mission, such as: Being a graduate of Saint Mary's College, Working in the MMC or another student-centered department as a student leader, Being a former Lasallian Volunteer, Working in a Lasallian school or ministry, Past participation in Lasallian formation opportunities, etc. If applicants do not have this past experience, they must at minimum have a desire to grow in their participation in and knowledge of the Lasallian educational mission.
