The Institute for Latino and Latin American Studies (ILaLS) invites the Saint Mary’s College community to join us for a Zoom talk with Professor Alejandro Velasco (NYU) on Tuesday, February 24, from 5:00–6:00 pm.
Professor Velasco is a respected historian of modern Venezuela and the author of Barrio Rising: Urban Popular Politics and the Making of Modern Venezuela. In this timely conversation, he will offer historical and political context for the rapidly unfolding events in Venezuela and help make sense of the current moment.
