Professional Overview

Prof. Rubaba Hasan completed her Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University in 2025. Her dissertation, “Cost Efficient Use of Burstable and Reserved Burstable Instances in the Cloud”, explores the use of low cost resources offered by cloud service providers while maintaining performance goals. In addition to her dissertation, she has conducted research on realistic experimentation for performance evaluations in systems. She is currently interested in looking into the use of heterogeneous resources in the cloud while meeting sustainability goals. Please reach out to her if any of it sounds interesting to you!

Rubaba completed her undergrad in Computer Science and Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Before starting her Ph.D., she taught at United International University in Dhaka.

In her free time, she loves playing board games and reading fiction (and fan-fiction). She’s always up for a board game session or a good book recommendation!
