Professional Overview

Aaron T. Lee is an associate professor in the St. Mary's Department of Physics and Astronomy. He primarily researches the birthplaces of stars and star clusters using both analytical and computational techniques, some which employ using some of the most powerful supercomputers in the world. More recently, applications of GPU computing and 3D printing have captured his interest. Additionally, he is invested in developing pedagogies for Introductory Astronomy courses intended for non-science majors. He has mentored many students in SMC’s Summer Research Program. Aaron has a Ph.D. in astrophysics from UC Berkeley, where he was both an NSF Graduate Fellow and UC Berkeley Dissertation Fellow, as well as a masters degree from Cambridge University.Aaron joined the faculty of Saint Mary's College in 2019.
