Nabanita Talukdar has a Doctorate in Marketing and an MS in Finance from Golden Gate University. She has an MBA in marketing from Tezpur Central University, India. Prior to pursuing academia, she had worked in L'Oreal India in the area of luxury marketing. Her previous job was at Hult International Business School. She has also worked in First Republic Bank and Actelion pharmaceuticals in the US.
Her research focuses on sustainable luxury consumer behavior, aiming to enhance the understanding of consumer perceptions and behaviors regarding sustainable luxury products. She employs a mix of experimental, survey, and qualitative research methods, including interviews to explore her research questions on sustainable luxury. She has published her research in peer-reviewed academic journals such as European Journal of Marketing, Marketing Theory, Journal of Strategic Marketing, Marketing Intelligence & Planning. She has also presented her research in peer-reviewed domestic and international conferences.
