Professional Overview

Josie Xiao holds a BA and MA in Economics from the University of Southern California and a Ph.D. in Applied Microeconomics from Claremont Graduate University. Her research focuses on two areas: the impact of rising geopolitical tensions on international scientific production, and discrimination in the U.S. criminal justice system. Outside of work, she is a mom to a three-and-a-half-year-old daughter and a ten-year-old pup. She also enjoys exploring international cuisines and experimenting with home fermentation.
