Campus Lights Up at Second Annual Glow SMC

by Student Activities & Engagement | March 31, 2026

Students and community members lit up the night at Glow SMC, a neon-filled celebration held March 21 in the Soda Center, returning for its second year on campus.

Building on the success of last year’s event, Glow SMC brought back fan favorites, including the glow skating rink, LED mini golf, and airbrush artists. Attendees also enjoyed a new lineup of activities this year, including a silent disco in a glow tent and a variety of arcade games, adding even more ways to dance, play, and connect.

The Soda Center was transformed into a vibrant, glowing wonderland, with neon lights illuminating every corner. Students navigated between the skating rink, mini golf course, and glowing games, while music and colorful lights set the energetic tone for the evening. Airbrush artists were busy creating custom designs, and the silent disco gave attendees the chance to dance together while listening to their choice of music through wireless headphones, creating a uniquely immersive experience.

“It helped me spend time with my friends in ways I would normally have to go off campus for.”

For many students, Glow SMC offered a chance to feel more connected to campus. “It helped me spend time with my friends in ways I would normally have to go off campus for,” said Teresa Dyson ’29.

The event also encouraged students to participate more in campus life. “Realizing that campus events are so fun and give us memories with the community and friends makes me want to get involved in more activities and events throughout the year,” said Amy Unruh ’28.

Glow SMC showcased Student Activities & Engagement’s continued commitment to creating innovative, engaging programs that bring the campus community together. With its combination of returning favorites and exciting new additions, the event promises to become a spring tradition on campus for years to come.
