Donor Spotlight: Melissa McKeever Barrow '05
Melissa McKeever Barrow ‘05, from San Jose, is one of our most loyal young alumni and annual donors. Melissa, a manager of advancement at Presentation Center in Los Gatos, has given back to Saint Mary’s College every year since her graduation in 2005—9 years! Every dollar we raise is important and her loyal annual support is much appreciated. A business administration major and intramural softball player, Melissa has long supported Gael Athletics and unrestricted giving at Saint Mary’s College. She is inspired to give back because she “knows how much [her] support can help make a difference in the life of other students.”
Melissa returns to campus at least once a year, typically with her dad, coming to cheer on the Gael basketball game against Gonzaga. Some of her fondest memories of her days at Saint Mary’s include softball games with her teammates, the friendships she made, and the sense of community at Saint Mary’s. Melissa’s grandfather graduated from Saint Mary’s College in 1935 so Saint Mary’s was always a part of her family and community and it was one of her top choices when the time came to choose which college to attend. She adds “Saint Mary’s always felt like home.”
The Barrow family just welcomed a brand new Gael into this world: Easton Edward Gene Barrow was born on January 30, 2016. Congratulations to their family! Saint Mary’s thanks everyone for their loyal support. Our annual donors’ contributions help to provide quality education for generations of Gaels to come. 1Day1SMC, our 24 hour giving challenge, is coming up on March 16. Join Melissa and help us celebrate our legacy and vision for a bold future at Saint Mary’s College.
