The Gaels are Dancin’! After Winning West Coast Conference Baseball Championship, Saint Mary’s Selected to the Corvallis Regional as Four Seed in NCAA Tournament
Saint Mary's is the only Northern California team in the national tournament. The Gaels take on Oregon State on May 30 in Corvallis.
Saint Mary's Baseball got their Memorial Day Monday off to a thrilling start at the UCU Pavilion: At the NCAA Baseball Watch Party, as they heard their name called for the 2025 NCAA Tournament, earning the four seed in the Corvallis Regional hosted by top seed Oregon State. The Gaels will make their second NCAA Regional appearance in program history and their first since 2016, both under current head coach Eric Valenzuela.
The double elimination format of the regional starts on Friday, with two opening games. Saint Mary's (35–24) will take on Oregon State (41-12-1) in the night cap on Friday, May 30, at 5 p.m. Pacific with the game streamed live on ESPN+.
Earlier in the day, No. 2 TCU (39–18) faces No. 3 USC (35–21), with first pitch set for noon. The game will be broadcast on ESPNU.
The winners of Friday’s games will advance to the winners' side of the bracket, and the losers will meet Saturday for an elimination game, mirroring the conference tournament format.

The Gaels are the only Bay Area baseball team in the NCAA Tournament. They earned the distinction with a dramatic win over San Diego in the West Coast Conference tournament on Saturday. Saint Mary’s first baseman Eddie Madrigal earned the Most Outstanding Player award for the tournament. As the San Francisco Chronicle recently noted, Madrigal also heads for Corvallis with a standout season behind him: a .372 batting average, 21 home runs, and 77 RBI—which has him tied for ninth in the nation.
