Mark Orr Appointment

Dear Saint Mary's Community,

Earlier this afternoon we formally announced the appointment of Mark Orr as Director of Athletics and Recreational Sports at Saint Mary's College. Mark succeeds Carl Clapp, who has resigned to accept a senior administrative position in Athletics at the University of Hawaii. We are grateful to Carl for his many contributions to Saint Mary's, and wish him well.

Mark is well prepared for the challenge of leading Gael athletics and recreational sports programs. He understands intercollegiate athletics from many perspectives, having been a successful D-I student athlete, coach, athletic department staffer and senior administrator. He is also a well-established and highly regarded member of the Saint Mary's family. We are gratified to have had such a qualified candidate in our midst.
