Matthew Dellavedova is a high achiever both on the court and in the classroom.

Matthew DellavedovaIn the 2012 Olympics, Matthew Dellavedova was the youngest member of the 12-man Australian National Team that advanced to the quarterfinals at the 2012 London Olympic Games. He has participated in various Australian national teams since 2008.

During his junior year, Dellavedova was named WCC Player of the Year and first-team all-WCC selection. He was named to watch list for the Naismith Award and named a Final 5 selection for the Bob Cousy Award, given to the nation’s top point guard. He was the first Saint Mary’s men’s basketball player to earn first-team Academic All-America honors, was selected to the Capital One Academic All-District ® 8 and All-America Men’s Basketball Teams, as well as being named to WCC All-Academic Team.

Dellavedova is among leaders in several career categories for his performance at Saint Mary’s. He is the school’s all-time leader in career assists with 545, and second in career three-pointers (202) and attempts (536) He enters his senior season in ninth-place on the school’s all-time scoring list with 1,380 points (fellow Aussie Daniel Kickert, 2002-06, is the leader with 1,874) and also is eighth in career steals (110) and sixth in career starts (98).
