
MFA in Dance Student Alondra Puentes Gallegos Featured in 2022 Mobile Dance Film Festival
Alondra’s work “Mujer de Raiz” will be shown with Program II at Gibney: Agnes Varis Performing Arts Center in New York on July 30th at 7pm EDT. The Mobile Dance Film Festival is the first festival for films shot primarily on a mobile device.

"Alondra Puentes Gallegos is an Indigenous performance artist, educator, and choreographer born in Heroica Matamoros Tamaulipas, Mexico based in Dallas, TX. Her artistic work and research focus on decolonizing, the effects of colonization, and the reclaiming of her Indigenous heritage. She holds a BA in Dance Studies from Texas Woman’s University and is currently pursuing her Master of Fine Arts in Dance and certification in Dance Management from Saint Mary’s College of California. She is a performing company member for the award-winning dance theatre company: the Danielle Georgiou Dance Group (DGDG) and serves as the Ballet Instructor for the academy and professional companies at Anita N. Martinez Ballet Folklorico (ANMBF)."
