Ninth Annual Poker Tournament to be Held August 21st
MORAGA, Calif. — Saint Mary's College Cross Country and Track is proud to host the 9th Annual Texas Hold'em Tournament on August 21st, 2021. All proceeds from the tournament will directly benefit the Men's and Women's Cross Country and Track programs, coached by Marty Kinsey '01. Held at the Soda Center, the tournament will be the first fundraising event held on the Saint Mary's College campus since February 2020.
"This event has become our marquee fundraiser for our programs" said coach Kinsey. "It's an event that brings together boosters, alumni, parents, faculty, staff and simply those looking for a very fun event to attend on campus. We're also excited to kick off the first on campus event since COVID-19 began…Let's celebrate the Gaels in person and start the year off right!"
Tickets to play in the tournament start at $100, which includes tournament buy-in, heavy appetizers, refreshments, and complimentary beer and wine. All players must be 21 and over in order to attend.
If you'd like to join the event but prefer not to play, you can purchase a $50 spectator ticket. If you cannot join but would like to make a tax-deductible donation to the program, please click HERE.
Prizes are available for the top players, including a 4 night stay at the Hyatt High Sierra Lodge in Incline Village Lake Tahoe, a foursome at Moraga Country Club, Gaels Basketball tickets, and more.
Saint Mary's Cross Country/Track is coming off of a successful 2020-21 season. Rayna Stanziano became the program's first-ever female-NCAA qualifier. Her 4:19 mile time earned her a top 32 entry in the NCAA west region. Nolan Dozier lowered his school record in the 5k to 14:07 and both Men's and Women's Cross Country and Track teams earned all NCAA Academic nominations.
