You say her first name and everyone knows her: Suzi, the charismatic professor, the fiery colleague, the prolific scholar, the inquisitive radio host, the Russian studies expert, the dear friend…

Our department has benefited for thirty years from her expertise and our students from her exciting lectures and first-hand stories in Russian politics, foreign policy, labor relations and organizing.

Suzi will leave us at the end of this semester, and we will miss her. Her brilliant mind and intellectual engagement seem impossible to replace. We hope she will keep in touch and maybe decide to come back to teach a course or two in the future.

And we believe Suzi holds the record at the College for the longest commute to work…from Los Angeles to Moraga!
