Student Spotlight: Meet Br. Luis Angelo Enriquez, FSC, Recipient of the SMC Outstanding Master’s Degree Project Award for His Work in the KSOE MA Leadership Program
Brother Luis Angelo Enriquez, FSC, is the recipient of the SMC Outstanding Master’s Degree Project Award for his work in the Kalmanovitz School of Education MA in Leadership Program. His project, titled “A Journey of Sacred Inquiry and Self-Discovery,” reflects the deep spiritual grounding that guides his life and leadership. Drawing on the writings of Henri Nouwen, Brother Luis explored the value of embracing change, truly caring for others, and being fully present through it all—a distinction that reflects his own calling as a De La Salle Christian Brother and thoughtful leader.
Known for his clarity, calm leadership, and good humor—even about his own love for order—Brother Luis is respected and deeply admired by his peers. As a proud descendant of a family of change-makers from the province of Bulacan in the Philippines, and a member of the Lasallian East Asia District, Brother Luis is returning home to serve as Director of Lasallian Formation and Ministry at De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute.
Brother Luis is deeply grateful for the Brothers of the District of San Francisco-New Orleans, most especially the Brothers in Saint Mary’s College and Saint Mary’s College High School, the student-leaders and staff of the Mission and Ministry Center, his classmates, his family, and all those he has met along the way. He will greatly miss walking around campus and going on long drives while pondering about the meaning of life, love, and he is excited to embrace what’s coming next.
The Saint Mary’s College community will also miss having Brother Luis on campus. We are grateful for his many contributions and wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
