Under blazing sunshine, Brother Chris Brady FSC '75 provided a warm welcome on a hot day.
Wearing a straw hat that may have granted indefatigable powers, he paced on the blacktop parking lot for hours to greet new Gael students and families before they even got out of their cars.
“It doesn’t get any better,” he said. “They’re so happy. They’ve waited for this for a long time, and to finally have it come true—I’m so happy for them. They’re blessed to be here and we’re blessed to have them.”
As a former high school principal, he knows what students have endured to get here, so his exuberance has a purpose, he continued. “My goal is to validate the choice they made to enroll at SMC and to be a bit playful."
