Parking and Transportation Update for 2022-2023 Academic Year

August 22, 2022

Dear Saint Mary's Community,

As the Saint Mary’s College community returns to campus for the 2022-2023 academic year, the Parking Office wanted to provide the following updates.

 Parking Permits

  • All vehicles parked on campus must have a valid parking permit or pass.  Permits can be obtained here. Daily parking is available from the Parking Pay stations in the Filippi Lot Extension, the Recreation Center Lot, and the Upper Soda Lot. The fee is $.50/per hour, with a $5 maximum for the day. These machines accept credit and debit cards only.
  • Some campus community members have alerted us that they have experienced technical difficulties in obtaining an online parking permit. If you experience any issues, please contact the Parking Office.
  • Additional information regarding parking permits can be found here.

Increased Parking Enforcement on Campus

Due to previous complaints about vehicles parked in unauthorized parking spaces, Campus Safety will increase enforcement of campus parking rules effective September 26, 2022. Focus will be placed on:

  • No Parking permit ( or no permit displayed)
  • Gas powered vehicles parked in electric vehicle charging stalls
  • Parking in Employee and Student parking lots without proper permit
  • Parking in Residential Staff parking spaces without proper endorsement

Lyft Program and Other Transportation Programs

The Saint Mary’s College Lyft program will be available for students, staff and faculty this Fall.  Lyft will send an email to your college email account with information on how to sign up for the program.  Information on Lyft and other transportation alternatives can be found here.

Any questions regarding parking permits and enforcement can be directed to the Parking Office at: psadmin@stmarys-ca.edu.
