SMCMoA Membership Program Benefits

Each of our members has their way of contributing to community and growth within the visual arts and our institution’s mission. Our membership program is designed to facilitate your desired level of involvement, philanthropy, and community. When you give to SMC | MoA, you decide and select the level of participation, support, and benefits in your membership. Listed below are programs and offerings.

All our memberships are 100% tax deductible.

 

STUDIO VISITS & WORDS:

All members invited.

Biannually scheduled, Studio Visits and Words connects and fosters relationships among the Museum, community, and working artists in the Bay Area. Our studio visits create an opportunity for members to gain insights into the ideas and processes of contemporary artists featured in current and upcoming exhibitions.

Transportation is provided. Additional expenses required. Member rates offered

 

Events & Lectures

All members invited.

Throughout the year, SMC | MoA features collaborations, events, and lectures that highlight the Museum’s mission at work. Whether a poetry response to a painting or an insider lecture on restoring a William Keith painting, your membership guarantees you an invitation and place at events and lectures.

Spring Garden Party

Accessible at the MoA’s Patron Circle.

Hosted by the Museum of Art, MoA’ s Patron supporters enjoy a catered Spring gathering at the beautiful terrace of Siena Hall, the presidential residence of Saint Mary’s College. Members have the opportunity to speak and collaborate with the college’s principal leaders and learn more about the Museum’s current endeavors and long-term goals.

 

Art & Wine

At $100 Supporter level and higher.

Designed to enhance aesthetic viewing experiences, Art & Wine connects two of the Museum’s favorite things! Partaking in this program gives supporters access to evening events that pair a selected winery with featured works of art.

Closer Looking

At the $250 Colleague level and higher.

Join us as we dig deeper into our fine art collection. At each Closer Looking, specific pieces are selected from our collection’s facility for an hour of inspection and informal discussion. Closer Looking provides access and facilitates discussions about works in our permanent collection that are behind the scenes and currently not on display. Some sessions focus on meanings, histories, and ideas central to the pieces, while others examine conservation concerns and share restoration projects.
