Returning to Campus With Mindfulness
December 15, 2021

Dear Saint Mary’s Students

We wanted to take time to share the most recent updates as we await your return to campus in January. It might take some time to get back into the swing of things, and there are a few things to keep in mind during your Holiday break.

A critical component of the health and safety of our community is vaccinations against COVID-19. Vaccines and booster shots remain the best option to protect yourself as more information becomes available regarding the Omicron variant of COVID-19

To schedule a COVID-19 vaccine booster shot, visit the state’s MyTurn app or website. You may also schedule a booster appointment through Contra Costa Health Services by visiting its online portal or calling 1-833-829-2626. Local pharmacies like CVS and Walgreens also offer booster shot appointments and can, in many cases, offer same-day or next-day availability.

Jan Term will start quickly with many events and student activities that encourage gathering and building community. We must each be mindful of county and College regulations, and continue to follow the basics of mask-wearing and good hygiene. It is also important to understand the revised statewide mandate, regardless of vaccine status.

As a reminder, residence halls reopen on Sunday, January 2, 2022, at 9 a.m. Sodexo will begin full-service operations on January 2 at noon. Residence halls will remain open between the end of January Term and the beginning of spring term.

Rooms are still available for those interested in moving onto campus for January and/or spring! Various styles of rooms are available on campus, and we invite you to make Saint Mary’s home. To sign up for a room, visit my.stmarys-ca.edu, select the Residence Life Housing Portal, and follow the directions. Questions? Contact Campus Housing at 925-631-4241.
