BE BOLD.
JANUARY TERM IS ONLY AS CREATIVE & DIVERSE AS ITS INSTRUCTORS.
Every year, faculty, adjuncts, staff, and community members use the unconventional space of Jan Term as a place for experimentation in both subject matter and technique. By creating unique course proposals, they have the opportunity to dive deep into their passions and expertise and pass that fascination on to our undergraduate students.
This is why Jan Term lives not only outside of the regular academic year but of the academic department as well. It frees both students and faculty members to explore topics in greater detail than is possible within the constraints of a regular semester.
DARE TO EXPLORE.

Program Mission
The January Term Program fosters curiosity by offering distinctive teaching and learning opportunities — on or off campus, domestic or abroad — that are not available during a typical semester. Through intensive and immersive academic engagement with a single course, students and faculty strengthen their capacities for exploration, critical thinking, and creativity.
