Learning Outcomes

  • 1: DEMONSTRATE proficiency in music theory, analysis, and various musical styles.
  • 2: DEVELOP technical and expressive skills in vocal, orchestral, or jazz performance.
  • 3: LEAD and CONDUCT choral and instrumental ensembles effectively.
  • 4: UNDERSTAND the social and cultural contexts of music, including diverse and non-Western traditions.
  • 5: ENHANCE creativity and improvisation in performance. The Music Program integrates this PLO through intentional design across applied lessons, ensemble experiences, course offerings, and performance-based assessments that prioritize originality, expressivity, and improvisational skill.
  • 6: APPLY musical skills in real-world settings through internships and the Senior Capstone.
  • 7: USE music to foster inclusivity and engage with diverse communities.

  • Beginning & Intermediate Piano (1 units)
  • Intro to Music: Rock to Bach (3 units)
  • RAISE YOUR VOICE Singing (3 units)
  • Music Theory (3 units)

Ensemble Participation (2 units)

Take two units from the following, courses may be repeated.

  • Glee (1-2 units)
  • Concert Ensemble (1 units)

Private Lessons (2 units)

Take the following private lessons course twice.
