In Project CLEAR, we want to build on the power of the teacher as a coach for colleagues and for students to scaffold learning. Everyone is a coach, whether we offer advice about sports, mathematics, or any other topic. We take a coaching stance when we share ideas and examples with someone else. Most of us have shared recipes, favorite restaurants, and special foods. We see this as coaching whatever the setting. Teachers who open their classrooms to welcome each other are in fact, coaching colleagues. This blog series focuses on exemplary features of effective literacy programs.
