MAIT FAQ's

If you completed your credential at SMC you need 12 additional units to complete your MAIT. If you completed your credential at another institution you need 15 units to complete your MAIT. 

If you plan to pursue the Catholic Education Emphasis you will need 18 additional units to complete the program.

The MA in Teaching program begins in the Summer term. 

Most students complete the program in one year. Students can complete the program in just seven months if they choose to attend classes full time in the Summer. 

Yes! JCL/SPED and JCL/MSTE students can earn their MAIT with an additional 21 units of graduate level coursework. We offer a general MA pathway, an MAIT plus BILA pathway, and an MAIT plus second credential pathway. 

The MAIT program is a fully online program.
