Welcome Mass | Thursday, August 29th, 2019 | 4:30 p.m. | McKeon Pavilion

The Mission and Ministry Center and Saint Mary's College welcome new students and their families to our community. We do this in a spirit of faith at the annual Welcome Mass. The 2019 Welcome Mass will take place during the Weekend of Welcome events on Thursday, August 29th at 4:30 p.m. in McKeon Pavilion. This is the one large scale faith-based gathering of the week and the only one with families! All are welcome!

The Alpha Mass | Sunday, September 1st, 2019 | 8:00 p.m. | Main Chapel

"The 8 p.m. Mass" is the weekly Mass that is typically attended by over 200 Gaels! We call the first Mass of the year "The Alpha Mass" because it begins the many Sundays we will pray, give thanks and worship together.  For many, it is also the source of faith, hope, love, community and Christ on campus! It is a Roman Catholic Mass, but students of all faiths gather to be together and celebrate! We invite you to come on Sundays at 8 p.m.

Mass of the Holy Spirit | Wednesday, September 4th, 2019 | 1:00 p.m. | Main Chapel

In keeping with a long tradition dating from the founding of the great European universities in the Middle Ages, Saint Mary's College of California celebrates the Mass of the Holy Spirit at the start of each academic year. During this Eucharistic Liturgy, we ask for the inspiration, guidance, and presence of God's Spirit on all of our campus activities. This festive event gathers the entire College community. We begin with invocations representing some of our diverse faith traditions, and we end with a blessing as we rededicate ourselves to the Saint Mary's mission, renew friendships, and welcome new members of our college community

The College Community will celebrate the annual Mass of the Holy Spirit on Wednesday, September 4th, at 1:00p.m. This first Shared Mission Community Time of the 2019-2020 academic year affords the College the opportunity to gather in a spirit of faith and community in the Chapel and to call forth blessings on the beginning of the academic year.
