Ellipsis: Art Practice Capstone Exhibition at the Saint Mary's College Museum of Art
From May 22 to June 22, 2025, SMCMoA showcases work by six graduating seniors. Their diverse body of work was developed during their studies in the BA in Art Practice.
The Department of Art and Art History is pleased to present the 2025 BA in Art Practice Capstone Exhibition, featuring the work of graduating seniors Marie-Claire Erable-Rodrigues ’25, Kaila Harris ’25, Lydia Miller ’25, Samuel Nobile ’25, Roe Peterke ’25, and Xochilt Quetzally Pomposo Alarcón ’25.

Ellipsis joins two other exhibitions at the Saint Mary's College Museum of Art: Isole: A Voyage Among My Dreams by mixed-media artist Cianne Fragione, and Past Lives by painter Seonna Hong.
By definition, an “ellipsis” refers to the omission from speech or writing of a word that is superfluous or can be understood from contextual clues. The students in this exhibition have chosen Ellipsis as both title and theme, presenting works that signify the distillation and refinement their unique creative visions have developed over the course of their studies. The paintings, sculptures, and mixed-media work on view are expressive, vibrant, provocative, and varied, representing a wide range of materials, styles, and approaches to creative practice.
An opening reception will be held on May 22, 2025, 4–6 p.m. in the Museum of Art, and the exhibition will be on view until June 22, 2025.
