Saint Mary’s College celebrated Halloween in unforgettable style this year with Halloweekend, a lively and creative event held in Dryden Hall. The celebration brought students together for an evening filled with festive activities, entertainment, and community spirit.

Halloweekend featured a wide range of attractions that captured the essence of the holiday. Students enjoyed pumpkin smashing, face painting, and custom T-shirt airbrush art. A tarot card reader and magician added a touch of mystery and excitement, while the popular 360 photo booth gave participants a fun and interactive way to capture memories.

"Halloweekend definitely made me feel more at home and in the spirit on campus, and makes me want to see more events like this be made in the future." - Luna Delgado, 1st-year student

One of the highlights of the night was the “Spook Booth,” where Student Activities & Engagement staff took photos and SMC students walked away with polaroid photos as a keepsake. In addition to the entertainment, the event also offered several DIY activities, including bracelet making and pumpkin painting.

The goal of the event was to bring students together in a fun and inclusive way, celebrating the creativity and spirit of the SMC community. Overall, SMC students felt a strong sense of belonging at Saint Mary’s after Halloweekend. At least 80% of Gaels who attended reported feeling that they felt connected and a sense of belonging to campus.

“Halloweekend gave students a fun and accessible way to celebrate Halloween together.” - Christine Flores, 4th-year student

The evening was filled with laughter, creativity, and school pride as Dryden Hall transformed into a festive Halloween hub. The variety of activities and the vibrant participation from students made Halloweekend a memorable highlight of the fall semester at Saint Mary’s College.
