Join us for the first annual Saint Mary's User Group (SMUG) Conference 2019.

The SMUG Conference will take place on October 21 and 22, in the Soda Center Orinda Room.
Sponsored by IT Services, the SMUG Conference was created by SMC staff members for SMC staff and faculty.
Staff and faculty from the campus community are invited to attend. Attend one session or attend all day.
Presenters are SMC staff who are the experts in their fields. Come and learn from the best!

Colleague Foundations

Day one has a heavy focus on Colleague and Colleague related topics. All Colleague users are invited to attend. You'll recognize the presenters as members of the AIS team past and present.

  • Lessons Learned from the Little Black Notebooks

  • Description: We are excited to welcome Sheila Pallotta as our Keynote Speaker. Sheila Pallotta retired from Saint Mary's College in 2017, after a 39 year career at the college. 30 of those years, she worked in technology. These years spanned an era of immense growth in technology in the workplace and in our lives in general. Through these many changes, she continually took notes in 3 by 5 inch pocket Moleskine notebooks, eventually amassing close to 30 notebooks, with over 7,000 pages of quotes, notes, plans, and the occasional scathing commentary.
  • At SMUG 2019 she will share this analog record of her Saint Mary's College digital experience. Come and learn about the history of technology at SMC from someone who lived through it. This is a session you do not want to miss!
