Admissions Checklist

Currently Accepting Applications for Fall 2019

All Applicants must submit the following:

  • Official undergraduate transcript from the degree granting institution with the date or expected date of degree completion. A preferred minimum GPA is 3.0 on a 4-point scale. For a GPA below 3.0, applicants may include a rationale.
  • Admission essay (12pt font size and double-spaced; please respond to each question separately [use headings to separate answers] in 2-3 succinct, cogent paragraphs)
    1. How do graduate studies in intercultural communication help you achieve your professional and personal goals? In other words, how does this program suit your specific interests and objectives?
    2. How does your professional, academic, and/or personal experiences demonstrate your preparedness for graduate work?
    3. What aspect(s) of intercultural communication are you most interested in studying?
  • Sample of academic writing that demonstrates the applicant’s ability to critically evaluate and synthesize scholarly work (double-spaced and 5-10 pages in length).
  • Two letters of recommendation from faculty members or supervisors who are familiar with the applicant’s academic achievements or professional experiences, respectively.
  • Up-to-date résumé or curriculum vitae
