Denise Witzig Women’s and Gender Studies Program Fund
The Denise Witzig Women’s and Gender Studies Program Fund was established in the Spring of 2025 upon the retirement of beloved WaGS professor Denise Witzig to provide vital support to the program.
This fund enriches the WaGS student experience by expanding impactful programming, ranging from lectures and presentations to film screenings, workshops, professional development opportunities for WaGS faculty, and co-curricular activities as the Program faculty directors see fit.
Your generosity ensures Denise’s spirit and passion for Women and Gender Studies at SMC will continue to inspire generations of students for years to come.
Your donation is 100% tax-deductible and will be restricted exclusively to The Denise Witzig Women’s and Gender Studies Program Fund.
SEPTEMBER 2025 UPDATE: Meghan Crowell, Class of 1998, has made a major gift to the Denise Witzig Fund. Ms. Crowell was the mastermind behind the pink gloves that all WaGS graduates receive upon graduation today. Refer to the "History of Our Pink Gloves" tab above to learn more. Ms. Crowell invites all WaGS graduates to add to the gift and secure the future of the program.
