This minor emphasizes the cultural and ethical elements of environmental work without sacrificing the scientific fundamentals. 

Our program will provide you with a broad understanding of our changing ecosystems and the ways humans can and should respond. With our small class sizes and the mentorship of our renowned faculty, you can make lasting connections in a tight-knit community of difference-makers.

An Environmental Studies Minor would pair well with any major, especially those with a focus public service. You will graduate from our program well-equipped for a career in research, activism, education, politics, and beyond.

Lower Division

The following lower-division course is required for the minor

Upper Division

Choose 4 upper division courses from the following list - at least 3 of which must not overlap with courses taken for the student's major. The specific upper-division courses selected for the minor must be arranged between the student and their advisor and be approved by the chairs of all departments involved. Many of these courses require prerequisites that are not required for the Environmental Science Minor.
