From Campus to Community: GaelMedia Connects Emerging Media Professionals with Real-World Opportunities

The Media Production Program at Saint Mary's College of California has launched a service initiative called GaelMedia to support our campus and the surrounding community, and to provide our students and alumni with invaluable professional development opportunities. GaelMedia offers two pathways of support to community members interested in the creation of professional-quality media by our student artists, technicians and entrepreneurs. The campus-based GaelMedia provides free support to programs, departments, students, staff, and scholars working at Saint Mary's College, and is run by current students. The Lamorinda-based GaelMedia is composed of Media Production alumni transitioning to the workforce, and offers affordable, professional-quality fee-for-service.

Campus Resources

Gael Media provides media production resources and support to the Saint Mary’s College community. Students, faculty, and staff can request student-led videography, borrow media equipment, receive one-on-one tutoring and training, access the sound recording and podcasting studio, reserve screening facilities, and receive assistance with other media-related projects.

Lamorinda Resources

GaelMedia Lamorinda connects the local community with emerging media professionals from Saint Mary’s College. Led by Media Production alumni, GaelMedia provides affordable, professional-quality video, audio, photography, and other media production services to businesses, nonprofits, organizations, and individuals throughout the Lamorinda community. The initiative gives alumni valuable opportunities to build their professional careers while helping local clients bring their creative projects and stories to life.
