2021 River of Words Youth Art & Poetry Contest - Free Online Celebration

April 8, 2021

River of Words® (ROW) is a worldwide Art and Poetry contest hosted by The Center for Environmental Literacy at the Kalmanovitz School of Education. Founded in 1995 by former-US Poet Laureate Robert Hass and writer Pamela Michael, the ROW Art and Poetry Contest has encouraged young people to explore the watersheds where they live. Through professional development, educational services, traveling exhibits, publications, and community programs, ROW reaches thousands of educators and young people around the world.

Congratulations to all of this year’s finalists and winners.

Due to the pandemic, we were unable to celebrate the 2020 winners so we will be celebrating the 2020 and 2021 winners at our annual ROW Festival on April 17, 2021 at 11am PST. The youth focused online event will feature the winning poets reading their poems, the winning artists, our teachers of the year as well as interactive poetry and art activities created by SMC students in the Justice, Community and Leadership (JCL) program.
