Baile Folklórico's Día de los Muertos Fundraiser 2025
Get Your Tickets Now!
In celebration of Día de los Muertos, SMC's Baile Folklórico Guadalupano (BFG) is hosting a fundraiser on Friday, October 25, in the Soda Center to support the purchase of regional dance outfits and to support their participation in Danzantes Unidos Festival (DUF) Conference and Asociación Nacional de Grupos Folklóricos (ANGF) Conferences. These conferences provide workshops that teach new regional dances and their history in different regions of Mexico. They also connect the students with folklórico groups from across the country.
In addition to performing BFG dances, the event will feature performances from both the SMC Mariachi Club and SMC People of the Pacific (PoP). The Mariachi Club will be performing live, and SMC PoP will be giving a series of speeches on Pacific Island traditions for honoring the dead.
Saint Mary’s alumni Irma Garcia ’97 and Atanacio Garcia ’95, parents of BFG President Atanacio, will be preparing homemade plates of rice, beans, and birria for dinner. Please arrive by 5:30 p.m. and purchase your dinner ticket ($15) separately from your show ticket. BFG will also be selling chips with hot sauce, popcorn, conchas (traditional Mexican sweet bread), arroz con leche (rice pudding), coffee, and hot chocolate.
Purchase your ticket early, as we expect to sell out!
