Your spring semester motivation is here! Head to the Joseph L. Alioto Recreation Center and be sure to participate in the various activities. Membership is free for students, faculty, and staff. Memberships are available for purchase by SMC alumni and affiliates. Guest passes are also available.  

Hours of Operation | February 5 – May 25, 2024 

  • Monday–Thursday, 6 a.m.–10 p.m.
  • Friday, 6 a.m.—8 p.m.
  • Saturday & Sunday, 10 a.m.–8 p.m.

Pool Hours

  • Monday–Thursday, 8–10 a.m. & 4–9 p.m.
  • Friday, 8–10 a.m. & 4–7 p.m.
  • Saturday & Sunday, 11 a.m.–2 p.m.

Note: As the weather changes to warmer temps, pool hours will increase. Watch for updates.

If you are a first-time user, below are the quick directions to help you register to use the facility.

  • Sign the waiver—use your SMC Credentials
  • Come in and take your photo

Did you know that affiliate members can purchase a membership? This includes those over 18 who are SMC alumni, spouses/dependents of SMC employees, emeritus faculty, and contracted workers (e.g., ABM, Good Eating Company, and the SMC Bookstore). View more information and how to purchase an affiliate membership on our website.

Invite a friend. Guest passes are available for SMC students, faculty, and staff, and can be purchased at the front desk. A guest of a SMC student is $10 for the day and a guest of a SMC employee is $15.

Spring Fitness Classes

The spring fitness class schedule is now available and open for registration. These classes are available for members at no cost.  

Play Pickleball

The Pickleball League begins Wednesday, February 21 and registration is now open. All levels welcome.

  • Find your partner—this league is open to community participants who pay and are sponsored by SMC students, faculty, and staff.
Intermediate to Advanced League — Wednesdays 4:30—6:30 p.m.
Beginners League — Fridays 4–6 p.m.

 

Important Dates

  • Drills & Free Play — February 21 & 23
  • League Begins — February 28 & March 1
  • Playoffs for Qualifying Teams — 2 weeks, ends May 8 & 10

Signing up as a free agent/solo? We will partner you up. Paddles and balls are available for use.
