August 29, 8pm - Opening Student Community Liturgy, Chapel
The Student Community Liturgy is the largest weekly gathering of Saint Mary's students and community members across our campus community! Students, Faculty, Staff, and our De La Salle Brothers gather for this celebration of Sunday Mass, a hub of our community's spiritual life that welcomes all members of our Saint Mary's community. It is during this time of communal prayer and reflection that our community is rejuvenated for the week and inspired in their exploration of their questions and beliefs.
August 30, 10am-2pm - "Highlight" Your Success, Student Success Office
Stop by the Student Success Office (Filippi Administrative Hall; next to Registrar) during the first week of classes (August 30th - September 3rd from 10 am - 2 pm) to pick up some free materials to support your Academic Success.
August 30, 12pm - Textbook Check-Up and Register to Vote
Stop by the Library's table outside Oliver Hall at lunchtime, and bring your course reading lists (or just a list of your courses) to see if the Library can help save you money on textbooks. (The Bookstore is the place to buy your books on campus, but the Library has a collection of textbooks you can borrow for 2 hours at a time.)
Also, today is the last day to register to vote in the gubernatorial recall election, so we'll be providing non-partisan info about the election and how to vote now that you're at SMC!
August 30, 7pm - Guided Library Tour, Saint Albert Hall Library
Explore the Library's study spaces and service points, learn how to print and book a study room, and get insider tips on this 15-minute tour with a friendly SMC librarian. Undergrads and grad students are welcome, and all attendees will take away library swag and snacks!
August 31, 5pm - Performing Arts Auditions, Various Locations
If you are interested in Dance or Music, auditions for ensembles will take place the first week of school. Want to know more about the Theatre Program or meet current and potential Theatre students? Are you considering auditioning for our Fall Production "Everybody"? Want to meet the director? Join Student Involvement & Leadership and Associated Students as they host the fall involvement fair. All student organizations chartered under Associated Students as well as some departments will be present to share their involvement opportunities! Come play debate games, check out the debate and speech team, and have delicious tiramisu. Learn more about how we make strong arguments for social justice and spar in mental combat tournaments! All undergraduate students welcome!

The Black Student Welcome event invites all Black students, faculty, and staff as well as allies to welcome students back to campus for the upcoming academic year. This is a mixer to get to know the campus community and start to build connections with each other. There will be activities and food will be served. We look forward to seeing you there.

Students can come to Student Disability Services (Filippi Academic Hall Office 190) to play Jackbox Games like Fibbage, Quiplash, and Drawful. They can learn more about our office and the student-led DiverseAbilities Club.
September 10, 7pm - IGNITE Saint Mary's, Intercultural Center
Slideshow attendees will vote on a movie to watch (On the Basis of Sex, Erin Brockovich, Legally Blonde, or Hidden Figures) Refreshments and Kahoot - Winner gets a gift card to a bookstore. Be in the realm of what club is about, but at the same time helps people ease in.

September 11, 2pm - Gael Force T-Shirt Pick Up, University Credit Union Pavilion
Gael Force will be passing out t-shirts for the 2021-22 school year during some of the first Athletic competitions of the year. Members of Gael Force are encouraged to attend one or all of these events to pick up their shirt to wear at future games!

Meet other Indigenous students on campus and get acquainted with the Indigenous/Native student body.
September 15, 11am-2pm - Wellness Fair, Dante Quad and De La Salle Lawn
Campus partners converge on De La Salle and Dante Quads and provide information and resources to students, faculty, and staff. Visit each booth and fill up your raffle card in order to be entered to win a $200 prize, including a weighted blanket, battery back up, and pop up solar light! A free BBQ will also be available.

Performing Arts welcomes students to an ice cream social where you can hear about what we have planned for Dance, Music, and Theatre this year, meet professors, and connect with current majors, minors and other students involved in the Performing Arts. Announcements will take place at 1:30pm with treats available 1:15-2:15 pm.

Contemporary ceramic artist Kari Marboe responds with site-specific works in dialogue with the 19th century California landscape painter William Keith. Contemplating change and time, Kari explores the truth of place through form and materials specific to the region's identity of wilderness and Keith's artistic practice.
Collective Memories: Collective Memories: Stonecuts from Cape Dorset
In the 1960s, graphic arts flourished at remote trading posts near Canada’s Cape Dorset region. This exhibition of selected stonecuts from the Saint Mary's College Museum of Art permanent collection reflects the collective memories and culture of Inuit peoples preserving stories and life experiences of seminomadic Canada through printmaking practices.

September 26 - Fall Student Retreat, Redwood Grove
A student retreat team from the Mission and Ministry Center (MMC) will be hosting an overnight retreat in the Redwood Grove at Saint Mary's College! The focus of the retreat will be on activities and encounters that will help all begin to see their essential place in THIS community! Students of all faith traditions and worldviews are encouraged to attend! If you have more questions, please reach out the MMC (x4366) and we will connect you with one of the student retreat team leaders! Or come by the office, we are located to the right of the Chapel!!

The Escalation workshop is a powerful film-based workshop that opens people's eyes to the warning signs of relationship abuse.
