August 29, all day - Self-Guided Library Tour, Library
Learn how to make the most of your SMC Library with a self-guided tour! Drop in anytime to grab a map that'll take you on a treasure hunt through the library. If you find all the clues and solve the puzzle, you'll get a limited-edition SMC Library lanyard (and the satisfaction of knowing whether the bathrooms are). This will run through the end of September and is available anytime the Library is open.

The Theatre Program is hosting a FREE BBQ in the Redwood Grove on 8/31/22 tentatively 5:30-6:30pm. Food and soft drinks/water will be provided, though you are welcome to bring any additional items. Meet our welcoming Theatre students, faculty, and hopefully our director of our fall production -- Brecht's "The Caucasian Chalk Circle." This is a time for all students, faculty, and staff to pause and be together to celebrate the beginning of the academic year. From our Lasallian Catholic heritage, all members of the Saint Mary's community are invited to this shared mission event during Wednesday community time.

All majors, minors, and those considering easily majoring/minoring in Music (vocal or instrumental), please attend this social. We'll have FREE light snacks and get to know each other. A student retreat team from the Mission and Ministry Center (MMC) will be hosting an overnight retreat in the Redwood Grove on campus. The focus of the retreat will be on activities and encounters that will help all begin to see their essential place in THIS community! Students of all faith traditions and worldviews are encouraged to attend. A partnership with SDS, this room features supports for neurodiverse students and everybody: flexible furniture, adjustable lighting, and other amenities to help with focus. September 28, 3pm - Everything You Want to Know about Using Social Media to Engage wtih Others, and Nothing You Don't, Sichel
Social Media posts are often highly polarizing. Using the 'Braver Angels Skills for Social Media', this workshop is designed to get participants to think about what they are doing with social media to improve the culture of posts and conversations, and provide a constructive alternative to the polarized and judgmental exchanges that dominate the current discourse. This can lead to more productive conversations and lays the groundwork for collaboration across difference.

The Library Escape Room returns! Students will work in teams to escape from the Library. Show up as a floor/hall, with your friends, or by yourself!
October 5, 1:30pm - Student Music Recital Series, Chapel
The Music Program has FREE student recitals from October through April...typically at 1:30 pm in the Chapel or Soda Center during Wednesdays' Community Time.
