GET EXCITED FOR FAMILY WEEKEND
Family Weekend is a time for families to reconnect with their students, other Saint Mary's families, faculty, and staff. We encourage you to take advantage of your time on campus: hike to the cross, visit the Museum of Art, or hang out in the quad!
WHEN IS THE NEXT FAMILY WEEKEND?
Family Weekend generally takes place a month after students have started fall semester courses. The 2023 Family Weekend date is TBD.

Sample Schedule
7am - 11pm - Cafe Louis Open
9am-12pm - Fair Trade Friday, Mission & Ministry Center
Come to the Mission & Ministry Center for a FREE cup of coffee, tea or hot chocolate - and chocolate samples - while learning how SMC is doing its part to support environmentally responsible businesses that promote safe working conditions and sustainable livelihoods for workers. We will be giving away free Fair Trade FACE MASKS donated to us by Fair Anita.
10am-4pm - Saint Mary's Bookstore Open
Grab some Gael gear at the Bookstore!
1-8pm - Family Info Table Open, De La Salle Lawn
Stop by the Info Table to grab information for the weekend and enter to win a raffle for some great prizes!
2pm - Campus Open Houses
- Student Disability Services (Filippi Academic Hall, Room 190)
- Catholic Institute for Lasallian Social Action (CILSA) (Ferroggiaro Hall, ground floor)
- Mission & Ministry Center (next to Chapel)
5pm - Library Escape Room
Work together with your team to escape the Library before time runs out! Check-in at the Library.
6-8pm - Food Truck Friday & Lawn Games, De la Salle Lawn
Items available for purchase. Enjoy our pleasant fall weather and some lawn games!
8am-1pm - Cafe Louis Open

9am-10:15am - Continental Breakfast, De la Salle Lawn

9am-1pm - Saint Mary's Bookstore Open
Grab some Gael gear at the Bookstore!
10am-4pm - Saint Mary's Art Museum Open
Throughout the day, take time to explore the Art Museum and its newest exhibits.
10am-5pm - Saint Mary's Library Open
Take a self-guided tour of the Saint Mary's Library. Pick up your self-guided tour map in the entryway, wander the three floors, pick up clues, solve them, and win a prize!
10am - Choose Your Own SMC Adventure!
- The History of Saint Mary's College Presented by Brother Christopher Brady, FSC and Brother David Caretti, FSC, Dryden Hall
- Exploring Leadership - Facilitated by Shannon Mauldin, JCL '16, MA '18 and Maura Wolf, Outdoor Pavillion #5 - participants are invited deepen their understanding of how assumptions inform our behaviors. In this experiential activity we will introduce the Ladder of Inference and use this model to explore assumptions of being a freshman at Saint Mary's.
11am - Choose Your Own SMC Adventure
- Historical Walking Tour of Campus, Leave from De La Salle Lawn - Led by Brother Chris Brady, FSC and Br. David Caretti, FSC, you will learn more about some of the original buildings and some fun SMC tales and folklore.
- College Covid Updates, Outdoor Pavillion #5 - Campus leaders provide updates on how Saint Mary's is addressing the pandemic.
12pm - Men's Soccer Tailgate Party, SMC Stadium/1pm - Men's Soccer v. Portland, SMC Stadium
Ticket includes access to tailgate party & game.
2-4pm - School of Science Summer Research Program: Student Poster Session, Brousseau Hall
Learn about the amazing research being done by students in the School of Science! Students who participated in the Summer Research Program in 2021 will present their research findings in a poster session. Talk to researchers and their mentors, learn about the science, and hear about the Summer Research Program.
3pm - Helping Your Student Make the Grade, Dryden Hall - Hosted by Student Engagement & Academic Success (SEAS), the High Potential Program and TRIO Student Support Services (HP Program) and the Advising Office (TAO) to learn about the resources available to help your students succeed (particularly as we approach midterms)! Snacks and iced coffee included!
4pm - Women's Soccer v. University of San Francisco, SMC Stadium
4:30-6pm - Wine & Cheese Reception, The 1928 Pub
Join us for a relaxing social at the College's pub. Sponsored by New Student & Family Programs.
11am - Saint Mary's Community Mass, Chapel
