Communication Capstone Project

All declared Communication majors must complete the Capstone course (COMM 491 or 492) before graduating. Here's what you need to know if you plan to take Capstone in Spring 2027: 

You first must complete the Capstone Project Proposal Guide. Please click the link below for the Proposal Guide. Follow the prompts, and submit your proposal in digital format to Lori Erokan: (le6@stmarys-ca.edu). Deadline: Friday, November 6, 2026.

Our Capstone committee will read all the proposals and then decide who your advisor will be. Once they decide, we'll let you know that you should then sign up for that class. 

Note: You won't be able to register for Capstone when signing up for the rest of your classes during your Registration Appointment. Your advisor has to "open" the class, and then you can do it. But when you're registering, be sure to keep this time period open on your schedule: MWF 12:05-1:10pm.

If you have questions, you are cordially invited to attend our upcoming Communication Dept Info Session on Wednesday, Oct 28, 2026 in Hagerty Lounge. You can learn about things that are important to Comm majors: Capstone, Internship, and the Communication MA grad program.  But if you can’t make the Info Session, don’t worry.
