A Note about Merit-Based Scholarships: The total of merit-based scholarships and other academic awards provided by Saint Mary’s cannot exceed the cost of tuition. Merit-based awards are applied towards any demonstrated need-based aid eligibility. Students who receive the combination of the merit-based scholarship and, for example, a Lasallian Leadership scholarship may compete for other merit awards; the maximum number of merit and other Saint Mary's awards a student may receive is three. If the combination of the merit scholarship, other Saint Mary’s awards, and Cal Grant exceeds the cost of tuition, the merit-based scholarship will be reduced. Students receiving a merit scholarship in addition to the Tuition Exchange award will have their merit award reduced, if it exceeds the cost of tuition.
