2019 Family Weekend: October 4-6

Below is the schedule of events for the weekend.  Please note that offerings and times may change.  You can get an updated schedule, campus map and other resources that you will need for the weekend when you arrive on campus.

Most events are free to families and food is available for purchase throughout the weekend.  CLICK HERE to purchase your discounted parking permit.


Friday, Oct. 4

2-4pm - Check in:  Check in with New Student and Family Programs Staff and receive your schedule for the weekend, Library Quad

3-5pm - Hike to the Cross and/or Attend Campus Open Houses:  CARE Center, Health and Wellness Center, Student Involvement and Leadership, Human Performance Lab, Student Disability Services

5-7pm - Food Trucks and Fun sponsored by Campus Activities Board (CAB), De La Salle Quad*

6pm - Residence Hall Association (RHA) Trivia Night, Hagerty Lounge

7:30pm - Saturn and Moon Viewing with Professors Brian Hill and Aaron Lee, De La Salle Statue (Chapel Lawn)

Physics and Astronomy Professors Brian Hill and Aaron Lee will set up a 5" (130mm) telescope which can provide excellent views of both Saturn and the Moon. If the night is foggy, cloudy, or rainy, Profs. Lee and Hill will instead direct attendees to a nearby classroom for a 1/2-hour talk on planet formation and exoplanet observation followed by Q&A.

2pm - Tours Museum of Art and Behind the Scenes with Sodexo Dining Services

3:30pm - Women's Soccer v. University of San Francisco, $5

4:30-6pm - Student Life Wine and Cheese Reception, The 1928 Pub

6pm - Dinner and Evening on Your Own

Sunday, Oct. 6

9:30-11am - First Generation Family Breakfast hosted by High Potential and Student Engagement and Academic Success

During the program, families will have an opportunity to reconnect, hear about strategies to overcome typical obstacles experienced during the middle of the semester, and receive a brief overview of the resources available to your student. RSVP is encouraged and there is no cost associated with your attendance. If you identify as a first generation student, this event is for you and your family!  

11am - Family Mass, Chapel

12-1pm - Brunch Available, Oliver Hall
