Admissions Requirements

Step One: Review Application Requirements and Gather Application Materials

Successful applicants will have met the following criteria:

  • A completed online application
  • Master's degree from an accredited institution
  • Graduate GPA of 3.5 or higher

Applicants are required to submit the following materials with their application:

  • One official transcript from any previous college or university.
  • International applicants also need the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
  • 3 letters of recommendation from persons familiar with your professional work and potential for advanced study
  • Personal statement of objectives
  • Current resume
  • Individual interview with EdD faculty member
  • On-site writing sample
     

Step Two: Submit your Application

  • Email your unofficial transcripts and current resume to the Kalmanovitz School of Education Admission team.**
  • Complete the online Application for the EdD program
  • Upload your official transcripts and application materials

**If you have an International Transcript, the Registrar’s Office will ask you to have a professional agency evaluate your units. Please find a professional agency and request from them a per course breakdown with the course name and equivalent number of units. The agency will send a copy of your official international transcript and the evaluation of your units to Saint Mary’s College. Once this is done, we can add the evaluation to your application.

Step Three: What to Expect after Acceptance to the EdD Program

  • Receive your admissions letter
  • Accept your offer and pay your deposit
  • Receive your Saint Mary’s account and activate it with your password
  • Begin your classes!

Tuition $71,700 (60 units, $1,195/unit)
Tuition deposit $250 (non-refundable)
Technology fee $500 (one-time)
Books $100 per course (average)
Course materials fee $50 for the program (approximately)
Prior learning assessment fee $300 per experiential learning essay submitted for evaluation (optional)
