Dance Graduate Certificate Lighting Design

Our MFA Dance program also offers a certificate for students who are interested in broadening their scope of expertise to satisfy their own intellectual curiosity as well as make themselves more marketable.

Certificate in Lighting Design for Dance

To complete this certificate, students must have an undergraduate degree and complete the following graduate coursework (10 units total):

• DANCE 510 - Lighting I (2 unit)
• DANCE 600 - Design Methodologies (3 unit)
• DANCE 611 - Lighting II (2 Unit)
• DANCE 612 - Lighting III (2 unit)
• DANCE 647 - Vectorworks (1 unit)

Some courses can be filled by the degree required electives and production requirements. Students will take courses in a variety of modalities, including in person, online, and as Independent Studies. Students can complete one or both certificates while working towards the MFA.
