A Thanksgiving Message to Our Saint Mary’s Community

Your teaching and learning, your care for one another, and your commitment to our mission make Saint Mary’s a place where students are seen, heard, and known.

As we approach the Thanksgiving break, I want to express my gratitude for the many ways you strengthen this community every day. Your teaching and learning, your care for one another, and your commitment to our mission make Saint Mary’s a place where students are seen, heard, and known.

This season invites reflection. I am grateful for our students’ curiosity and leadership, for the dedication of our faculty and staff, and for the steadfast support of our De La Salle Christian Brothers, Gael alumni, Trustees, friends and supporters, and East Bay community members. I am also mindful that the holidays can feel different for each of us. Whether you are traveling or remaining close to campus, I hope the break brings rest, connection, and peace.

As Human Resources shared last week, the College will observe an early release at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 26. I hope this small gesture gives you a head start on the holiday and time with loved ones. The College will then be closed on Thursday, November 27, and Friday, November 28. I encourage everyone to use this time to recharge and to arrive safely back on campus as we look ahead to the Christmas season and finish the semester strong.

Thank you for all you do for Saint Mary’s and for the students we are privileged to serve. I wish you a joyful and restorative Thanksgiving.

With appreciation—and Go Gaels!

Sincerely,

Roger J. Thompson, EdD
